If you happened to pass by the Grade 4 classrooms on May 2nd 2025, you would have thought you’d walked into a battlefield- only this one was fought with words instead of weapons! Our much-awaited Inter-Class Scrabble Competition had students buzzing with excitement, nerves, and a whole lot of creative energy. The event was held in two thrilling phases. The first round took place within each class, where students had just 10 minutes to prove their word-building power. “It felt like the clock was chasing me,” laughed Ananya from 4A, who later made it to the final round. From quick scribbles to nail-biting tile placements, the pressure was real- but so was the fun!
The top three champions from each class then marched proudly into the final showdown– the inter-class face-off. The atmosphere was electrifying. Students leaned over their boards, whispering strategies, hearts racing each time the timer beeped. “I thought my brain would explode when I couldn’t find a word,” shared Azka from 4A with a grin, who eventually secured second place. And what a finale it was! After rounds of clever wordplay and incredible focus, the winners emerged:
Amna Abid (4B) – Our Scrabble Queen of the day!
Syeda Azka Adeel (4A) – Calm, clever, and super sharp!
Muhammad Orhan (4B) – The comeback kid who never gave up!
Our fantastic Runners-Up- Ananya Sunil (4A), Kainat Soomro (4A), and Muhammad bin Abu Bakar (4B) — also deserve a huge shout-out for their grit and teamwork. What made the day truly memorable wasn’t just the competition, but the way the students encouraged one another, celebrated each clever move, and wore the widest smiles at the end. As one student said, “It didn’t feel like a competition… it felt like a game we were all winning together.”
And perhaps the best reflection came from Kainat of 4A, who said, “Scrabble taught me to Think Win-Win because even if I didn’t win first place, I learned new words and cheered for my friends.” Another student proudly added, “I used Synergy when I listened to my classmates’ strategies in practice and then used them in the final.”
The Grade 4 Scrabble Smackdown wasn’t just about words; it was about learning to Synergize– combining our ideas, cheering each other on, and realizing that together, we can achieve more than we ever could alone.
