The celebration of Defence Day on September 6th commemorates a historical period in Pakistan’s history. This day honours the memory of our courageous and valiant soldiers who have sacrificed their lives and shed their blood in the service of their beloved homeland.

History traces us back to the time of 1965 when the enemies of Pakistan declared war on the country without a warning call or a declaration of war. This incident jolted the entire nation. The unresolved matter of Kashmir has always been a hot burning topic for both India and Pakistan, and it was once again brought up in 1965. This war finally came to an end on September 6th, with the UN’s assistance.

To pay tribute to our heroic soldiers for their services in the love of their country and for defeating the Indian Army, Beaconhouse School Primary II Campus PECHS celebrated Defence Day. Mr. Major Mahmood embraced this occasion with his presence. The day began with special prayers and supplication for the nation’s peace and prosperity. Students of Beaconhouse School further displayed their patriotism by proudly waving the flag of Pakistan in high spirit. They also participated in school parades, declamation speeches, and patriotic songs to demonstrate their enthusiasm and devotion to their country. Finally, the Pakistani national anthem was played to honour and salute the martyred soldiers who are still buried in the hearts of every Pakistani citizen.
