The War of Words !

The opportunity I availed given by Beaconhouse School System Elementary Campus Block 3 PECHS. I recently participated in the 26th Inter School Scrabble Competition held at the magnificent building of B.V.S organized by the Pakistan Scrabble Association. At first, I was nervous and struggled to form new words, but with practice, I gained confidence in the game. I went to compete against other schools while proudly representing my own School Beaconhouse elementary Campus. The ground was crowded with enthusiastic players.

In the first two rounds, I played smoothly, but in the third round, I got stuck. My opponent played a seven-letter word on a triple word score, and I was at a loss for words. I lost that round, but I learned an important trick about how to triple my score. Scrabble is not just a game of words; it is also a game of strategy and smart moves, and this is what I truly learned on the ground.

It was a wonderful and fruitful experience. I had never played this game so seriously before, as I usually played it casually with my siblings and cousins. Competing and forming words under pressure was quite challenging. It was also my first time learning how to hit a “Bingo.” Using all seven tiles in one turn was difficult, but I saw fellow players achieve it several times.

Although I won only three rounds out of five, I learned that beyond the bag of letters lies a game of luck, logic, and strategy. Just like a sweet mixture of spices creates a perfect dish, the right mix of effort and skill leads to success.
