Diwali celebrations are a very important and exciting time for all students at Beaconhouse. We celebrated Diwali with students and staff members on Wednesday the 3rd of October. The celebration began with decorations in the morning as some of the staff members along with some students made an art piece using flowers to mimic the pattern of common rangoli artwork seen during Diwali. ‘Happy Diwali’ was written using these flowers in between the entire pattern. They were able to make a
a beautiful piece which they topped off with diyas on various areas to add light to the art and make it more festive.

All diploma programme 1 students along with the staff members and a few teachers were then called downstairs where everything had been set up. Everyone was able to see the art piece displayed on the table along with two cakes and a few refreshments for everyone. The diploma programme manager then informed everyone of the occasion and allowed everyone who celebrated Diwali to fill in the centre of the stage. It was a very exciting moment for everyone there as the audience cheered as all the students and staff members who actually celebrated Diwali were given the opportunity to cut the cakes together. Everyone present then huddled for a picture to remember this special day.

Staff members were then called up one by one and were given Diwali gifts on behalf of the school. These staff members received their own individual serenades of cheers and claps by the audience. The cake pieces were distributed amongst the staff and the teachers. The students received plates with their refreshments. The students, teachers and staff members all wished each other bringing the celebration of Diwali to an end.
