The workshop was conducted by Ms. Afshan Zahid, Student Protection and Safeguarding Coordinator, and was attended by our entire Support Staff team, along with our School Head, Ms. Saima Faheem, whose presence reflected the institution’s strong, top-down commitment to child safety.
Key areas covered in the session included:
🔹 The purpose and importance of the Child Protection Policy within the school
🔹 The role and structure of the Child Protection Committee (CPC) — represented at Group Office, Regional Office, and Head Office levels
🔹 Staff responsibilities in identifying, reporting, and responding to any concerns regarding a child’s safety or wellbeing
🔹 Expected code of conduct for support staff, emphasizing appropriate behaviour, professionalism, and respectful communication with students
🔹 Clear reporting procedures for flagging any unsafe or inappropriate behaviour to the CPC
🔹 An overview of the legal consequences under Pakistani law for violations of child protection standards, reinforcing the seriousness of this responsibility
The session encouraged open dialogue and reminded all staff members that safeguarding is a shared responsibility — one that requires vigilance, accountability, and collective effort from every member of the school community, from leadership to support staff.
At Beaconhouse PWD Primary & Middle Branch, the wellbeing and safety of our students remain our highest priority. Through continued training and awareness, we strive to build a school environment where every child feels safe, protected, and empowered to speak up.
