Poetry is emotion recollected in tranquillity.” <\/span>~ William Wordsworth\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

English Poetry Writing Competition was an exhilarating experience for the students of Beaconhouse Metropolitan Campus – Boys Section – who exhibited their creativity and novel thoughts through innovative verses. Since poetry takes its origin from ’emotion recollected in tranquillity’, <\/span>the students sought resort in the quiet moments of their English lessons, in order to revisit their fragile emotions, and compose poetry.<\/span><\/p>\n

The competition provided the much needed platform to the young poets to give vent to their creative thoughts and impress the readers. Their profound sentiments were not only poignant but also inspirational. <\/span><\/p>\n

The students delved deeper into their emotions and thoughts, for the following assigned topics, during this contest:<\/span><\/p>\n

Grade VI Topic: Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter<\/span><\/p>\n

Grade VII Topic: Write a poem about yourself in which nothing is true.<\/span><\/p>\n

Grade VIII Topic: The feeling of getting lost in a book<\/span><\/p>\n

Grade IX-M Topic: Your Mother\u2019s Perfume<\/span><\/p>\n

Grade X-M and X-C Topic: Write a poem about your shadow.<\/span><\/p>\n

Grade XI-C Topic: Walking with your eyes closed<\/span><\/p>\n

All of the entries offered beautifully composed poems with sensitively conceived ideas. The students discovered their hidden potential to write poetry creatively. <\/span>Moreover, the young poets of BMC-Boys proved the long held assertion of Aristotle that poetry is more “philosophical” and of higher value than history.<\/span><\/p>\n
