The month of October heralds the arrival of Global Dignity Day bringing with it opportunities of inculcating the spirit of dignity among each other. This year, students were asked to choose how they would like to celebrate Global Dignity Day. The result was overwhelming. Many students opted to honor their birthright of dignity by celebrating their uniqueness through online as well as in class activities. A virtual collaborative session between Beaconhouse Mirpur Campus and Beaconhouse Metropolitan Campus-Girls enlightened students on the significance of dignity leading them to share suggestions on how to spread its spirit to far-fetched areas. Students of 8 planned and arranged an interactive question answer session with the junior staff members. A lot of brain storming and planning went in the process. For the special guests, invitations were typed and distributed, questions were designed, and small tokens of appreciation were arranged. The result was a day full of respect, appreciation and sounds of contagious laughter. Finally, a beautiful dignity wall designed by students will not go unnoticed by anyone passing through the school’s corridor!
This Global Dignity Day has indeed left its mark on students, teachers and everyone associated with the school alike. Here’s to a “peaceful, sustainable, and just world.”
