Poetry is thoughts that breathe and words that burn
– Thomas Gray
What could be more beautiful other than expressing oneself thorough rhymes, repitition and alliteration? What could be more fascinating to the students other than giving them complete freedom to pen their feelings down on a piece of paper?
Following is a beautiful amalgamation of humour and wit, in the form of poetry, created by students of Grade VII, which honestly we all can relate to if we look back on our childhood.
SCHOOL IS CRUEL
We got to go to school
Spending six long hours, which is very cruel.
We read White Dolphin everyday;
And would give a million spoilers, if we may.
In Science we learn facts;
Hannan knows everything, that’s how he acts.
In Math we learn hieroglyphs;
Even the aliens won’t understand what it is.
In history we learn about the people in the past;
Nothing in our memory of which last.
While taking our pens out of the pouch;
We wonder how would it feel if we were at home, sitting on the couch.
Alas, we got to go to school;
Spending six long hours, which is very cruel.
