Imagine, living in a country where your life would be constantly at stake, where you would fear losing everything for a very petty reason, a country that you could not call your own, a country where there would be descrimination on the basis of religion, on the basis of your faith. Imagine watching your own religious sites burnt down to ashes, Imagine people complaining about adhan because it disturbs their sleep. Imagine being suppressed and not being able to speak for yourself…..Complete nightmare.

All of it, each of it could happen to us if our leaders and ancestors had not struggled and sacrificed their lives for a country which assuredly is ours. They raised their voices in their present for the future of millions.

Every great struggle leads to an achievement but every great struggle begins with a dream, an idea. It was Allama Iqbal’s vision, his dream, his idea that led to the formation of a separate homeland for the suppressed Muslims of Hindustan. It is he, who brought life into the dead empty souls, who pushed the Muslims to go beyond their limits and demand a separate homeland for themselves and for generations to come through the weapon that no power on earth could beat; his poetry.

9th of November, on the auspicious occasion of Iqbal Day an assembly was conducted at Beaconhouse Warsak Campus Peshawar, where students participated to their fullest, mostly dressed up as the poet of east, delivered speeches, expressed the love, the respect and the gratitude they hold in their hearts for him. Students also recited poetry of Iqbal, effective enough to quiver the hearts.

His poetry truly connected to the people giving them the courage to stand by their faith, speak for themselves and for thousands of others.
