” Refuse what you do not need; reduce what you do need; reuse what you consume; recycle what you cannot refuse, reduce, or reuse….”- Bea Johnson
Students at BSS-BEI understand the importance of effective waste management and how necessary it to help sustain the environment for our future generations.
Grade 6 enumerated the importance of zero wastage in the morning assembly by stressing on the 3 R’s – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. The students recycled various materials that they had lying around in their homes by making brand new, more useful materials out of them.
One of the students managed to use an empty cold drink bottle as a fish tank while another student used an empty egg crate as a planter. There were also many other creative projects which turned ordinary items into new usable items.
The activity served as a great reminder for everyone to fulfil their responsibility towards the Earth and help make our world a cleaner and healthier place to live.
