Fantastic Mr. Fox by Roald Dahl is a fun little book with bold and confident characters. Dahl’s celebrated writing style is fun to read and offers much for the imagination. I am biased as I write this book review because I had watched the Wes Anderson movie Fantastic Mr. Fox well before ever reading the book. So, as I was reading, the movie characters and scenes came to life all over again, which made me very happy. The movie is stunning!
The main character, Mr. Fox, loves stealing food from the grumpy local farmers. Despite his cleverness, the farmers eventually catch on to his antics and devise a scheme to eliminate him and protect their farms. In response, Mr. Fox comes up with an audacious plan to continue his thievery, but this time from underground. It would take a fantastic fox to do such a daring feat.

This was one of the books I loved to read during my summer break! The way the writer explains the emotion was far beyond my imagination When Joe, Beth and Frannie move to a new home, an Enchanted Wood is on their doorstep. And when they discover the Faraway Tree, that is the beginning of many magical adventures! Their friends Moonface, Saucepan Man and Silky the Fairy as they discover which new land is at the top of the Faraway Tree.
The story is amazing. It has a little humour. I love Moon-face and Saucepan Man. Beth’s birthday is an amazing chapter. Even the fewer pictures, I could imagine. I love the novel and the author is great. It’s so interesting, and when you read it you feel like you are in the story and you are experiencing it in real life.
Book Review: Crocodile Crocodile
Name: Muhammad Zaroon
Class: 3 Red
Title: Crocodile Crocodile
Author: Celia Canning
“Crocodile Crocodile” is an interesting story about a crocodile who got tired of eating the same old swamp fish for three years. He saw another crocodile enjoying a different kind of fish and decided to go to town to find something new to eat – people!
When a man reading a newspaper spotted the crocodile, he ran into his house, leaving the newspaper behind. The crocodile happily ate the newspaper and laughed. Is the crocodile silly?
The people in town were tired of the crocodile’s antics and sent him back to the jungle. In the end, the crocodile went back to eating swamp fish.
Book Review: The Railway Children
Author: E. Nesbit.

In ‘The Railway Children’, three siblings—Roberta, Peter, and Phyllis—move to the countryside with their mother after their father is taken away under mysterious circumstances. Their new home is near a railway station, and the children quickly become fascinated by the trains and the people who work there. They make friends with the stationmaster, his family, and a kind old man who turns out to be essential to their father’s story.
The children’s adventures include helping to uncover the truth behind their father’s disappearance and assisting in various railway-related mishaps. Throughout their journey, they learn about kindness, perseverance, and the importance of family. Their efforts lead to a heartwarming resolution when their father is finally reunited with them, revealing the truth behind his disappearance and highlighting the children’s bravery and resilience. The story beautifully combines adventure with moral lessons.
I really enjoyed “The Railway Children” by E. Nesbit. The story is heartwarming and fun, with the three siblings—Roberta, Peter, and Phyllis—being very relatable. The setting near the railway is magical, and I loved how the children’s adventures helped solve the mystery of their father’s disappearance. It’s a classic that beautifully captures family and adventure, and I think both kids and adults will love it.
