Book Title: The Giraffe And The Pelly And Me

Author: Roald Dahl

By: Muhammad Maaz Rana 5 Red

The most interesting aspect was at the end of the story when everything was about to wrap up and ended with a heartwarming poem that held my heart like a gentle embrace.

Five main characters were developing relatively fast including the giraffe with a magical neck the monkey being the leader of their cleaning factory the Pelican having an enormous beak Billy a creative mind person wanting to make a candy store and lastly the old man who is the only reason they all are living a luxurious life.

Yes, this book met my expectations as it was a small story including the bond of friendship and rewards for helping others, giving a moral to use in daily life. I would recommend this book to all my friends and cousins and as my grandparents love reading books including childish ones so I would recommend this beautiful book to them also. As the book was written by Roald Dahl it had to be magnificent so I would rate this book a solid 4.5 / 5.

Book Title: The Worst Witch

Author: Jill Murphy

By: Aabis Mushtaq Chaudhary 5 Blue

Iss Cackles Academy. A school for witches. It looked more like a prison because of the gloomy grey walls and turrets. The school’s dress code was literally only black. Even in the summers, a girl called Mildred Hubble used to go to this school. She was not exactly the best student. She always breaks rules and annoys the teachers but she doesn’t exactly mean to do this. She is a bit of a clumsy student. She had a friend named Maud. The school’s headmistress was Ms. Cackle. All the students even got their own cats. Mildred had a very rude teacher. The name of that teacher was Ms. Hardbroom. A young witch named Ethel makes fun of Mildred. She even put curses on a broomstick that she lent Mildred. Ethel was the top student. One day Mildred Changed everything. Ms. Cackle had a wicked sister who was soon turned into a frog by Mildred. She was almost in trouble. She had become a hero for the school after Ms Cackle found out it was her wicked sister. She even got everyone a holiday to save the school!

This book brings my expectations because of how interesting it is and the storyline behind this. The lore is the most interesting part. I would definitely recommend this book. I rate the entire book a 5 from 1-5.

Book Title: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

Author’s Name: J.K Rowling

By: Anaya Asim 5 White

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone written by J.K Rowling was released in 1998. It contains 309 pages. The book starts by introducing the Wizarding world from the viewpoint of the Dursleys Harry’s parents were murdered and he survived with a signature lightning bolt scar on his head. The story then takes us to the time when Harry gets a letter of acceptance into Hogwarts. For the rest of the book, Harry’s introduction to the magical strength of the book is using Durley’s to introduce a different world to the readers.

The descriptions of locations items and characters are vivid. The school year structure of this book makes controlling the pace of the story easy. The ending ties many events in the book. Characters’ introductions are very well done as children can relate to what happening in the book easily.

The weakness of the book is wondering why adults in the story are not able to accomplish what Harry, Ron, and Hermione could. The book ends rather abruptly I feel that he could be better with an additional chapter that expands slightly on Harry’s return to the Muggle world.

The plot of the book revolves around getting Harry into the wizarding world. Harry and his friends jump into action to find the mysterious thing. Along the way, they get into trouble and Harry learns who he is.

In conclusion, this book can be enjoyed by children and adults. It’s incredibly easy to get enveloped in the story the story format and everything is so well written and perfect. My Favourite book ever.

Title: George’s Marvellous Medicine

Author: Roald Dahl

By: Anaya Imran 5 Red

The story is about 8-year-old George Kranky who lives on a farm with his mom, dad and his maternal grandma. George’s grandmother bosses him around and bullies him. He is supposed to give her medicine at eleven o’clock. So he decides to make a magic medicine to replace his grandma’s normal medicine. He goes around his home and collects a variety of ingredients that are not food. He then adds brown paint to make the colour the same as the original medicine.

The medicine doesn’t make Grandma any nicer, but it does have a remarkable effect on her, and on every creature they give it to. George’s dad wants him to make another batch, but there is a problem. George didn’t write down the recipe. So every new batch he tries is missing something and has a different effect when they test it on the farm animals. Finally, medicine number four solves their problem.

I love the imagination of Roald Dahl to create these hilarious and weird stories. Quentin Blake’s illustrations are the perfect match for this story. Whenever I turn a page, the illustrations make me laugh out loud.

The best thing about this book and the thing I enjoyed most was the ingredients list that goes into the medicine. Everything from hair shampoo to engine oil, products from every part of the house poured, scooped and melted into an enormous saucepan of marvellous medicine.

My favourite character was Mr Kranky because he was excited about his son’s tremendous invention and wanted him to make the marvellous medicine again. It is a great book and captures one’s curiosity. The concept was unique and the book left me with wanting to read more.

The funniest thing about this book is the dedication page. “This book is for doctors everywhere.”

I would definitely recommend this book for 7–12 years old. I would love to read more of Roald Dahl’s books and I am eager to find out whether the author has used the word enormous and vegetable cabbage in all his books.

Title of the book: GUILTY?

Author: Eric Brown

By: Muhammad Hashir Naveed 5 White

Eric Brown’s ‘GUILTY?’ presents readers with a gripping moral wrapped in a thought-provoking and topical drama. The story follows, Nicky Green fighting his bully but later when he goes home, he finds a knife on the ground and takes it. The next day, Nick finds out that the bully is dead and everyone accuses him of the murder.

The character development in ‘GUILTY?’ is exceptional, particularly in Nick’s evolution from a seemingly innocent person to a central figure in a murder investigation. Brown’s skilful narrative keeps readers engaged, prompting them to weigh the evidence and form their own conclusions.

The most interesting aspect is when Nick punches the bully, blood comes on his shirt but he didn’t kill the bully. Nick also puts that blooded shirt and the knife he picked up from the street in a brown bag and throws the bag into a river. This book surpasses my expectations remarkably. The storyline is amazing and wonderful. Overall, I would recommend this book to everyone because it is thought-provoking and offers readers a compelling exploration of guilt, innocence, and the complexities of human nature.

Title of the Book: The House in the Fog

Author: Enid Blyton

By: Mirza Zayan Ahmed 4 Blue

This story is about a boy named William, who gets lost in the fog and ends up in a strange house, where he finds a pixie. That pixie was a male. The boy asked the pixie which direction his house was, but the pixie didn’t reply. William didn’t believe in any magic but he saw things moving around in the pixie’s house by themselves. He saw that a saucer was giving milk to a cat in the house by itself etc. The pixie asked William to introduce himself.

And William said he was a little boy but, Suddenly, he saw that he was turning into an animal! so he ran out of the house and tried to remember his way back home. Thankfully the fog finished and he found his home successfully. The moment he reached his house he was back to being a normal boy. He explained this entire tragic situation to his mother. But she didn’t believe any of it!

The most interesting aspect I found out was that William turned into an animal, so he was very frightened. And the fog made it difficult for him to find his way back home. The character of Pixie is very interesting because he is very suspicious and has a lot of lore behind him. And he didn’t reply to  William either. While the cat and William are the second most interesting.

I would recommend this book to all my friends, as reading it increases your creativity and vocabulary.  This is the best book for non-fiction lovers. I would definitely rate this book 5/5. It was really a blast! It’s the best book I’ve possibly read. It is one of the most famous books of Enid Blyton.

Title Of The Book: Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul

Author: Jeff Kinney

By: Huzaifa Sajid 4 Purple

The story begins with a mother’s announcement of a road trip, which is told through diary entries. The events unfold in a jigsaw pattern, with the family moving from one disaster to another. The main character, Greg Heffley, shares his thoughts through diary entries and flashbacks, making the reader sympathetic to his life. The author uses his own experiences as a child and parent to create a story that evokes mixed emotions, including laughter and sympathy for Greg. The book teaches the importance of accepting different types of people. A family road trip is supposed to be a lot of unless, of course, you’re the Heffleys. The journey starts off full of promise, then quickly takes several wrong turns. Gas station bathrooms, crazed seagulls, a fender bender, and a runaway pig are not exactly Greg Heffley’s idea of a good time. But even the worst road trip can turn into an adventure.

The book did, in fact, live up to my expectations because it was relevant to my genre. I read it with great enthusiasm and tried to apply what I learned to enhance my academic performance. The Diary of a Wimpy Kid books are a fantastic gateway into reading for many children, their humour, silliness, and comic-book-like format are incredibly appealing, and make this series extremely accessible for reluctant readers who may not otherwise be inclined to pick up a book. Overall, I would give this book 4.5 stars out of five and would recommend this as an easy read to others.

The story follows the journey of a young and kind-hearted girl named Matilda Wormwood, who is born into a family of uncaring and neglectful parents. Despite the obstacles and challenges, she faces, Matilda discovers her own unique powers and finds solace in her kind teacher, Miss Honey.

I love this book. I think Roald Dahl is just inspirational with his words and uses them very wisely in the book under the name of Matilda. It is very creative how Matilda has special powers in her eyes.I like Miss Honey because she is wise and helpful like Matilda. The main characters in this book are Matilda, Miss Honey and Miss Trunchbull. I liked Matilda because she was very wise and curious and I liked Miss Honey because she was helpful and kind.

Matilda is a little girl who loves reading. She has superpower eyes. She can use them for lifting and breaking things. She protected the other children in the class from Miss Trunchbull and she helped Miss Honey get her mansion back. In the end, she defeats the evil Miss Trunchbull and it is a really happy ending.

Title of the Book: THE   STONE   SOUP

Author: Ann Mc Govern

By: Fatima Bilal 3 Purple

“The Stone Soup” is a great story that charmed me from beginning to end. The story is about three travellers who are tired and hungry. While reading this book in the start I thought that the villagers would share food and shelter but the beginning didn’t go as expected. The travellers knocked on many doors for something to eat but nobody even cared to open the door for them or let them in. That’s when Jack got an idea. So Jack whispered his idea to his friends. The most fascinating aspect was the progressive change of the characters as they got familiar with the strength of coordinated effort and generosity. Their progression through the story felt natural and inspiring. The story exceeded my assumptions with its message of community and sharing. My favourite part is when Jack whispers his idea to his friends.

I strongly prescribe it to pursuers of any age who value endearing stories with significant examples. On a size of one to five stars, “The Stone Soup” effectively procures a strong five for its appeal, connecting with the plot, and the way it resolves to the message of community and sharing.
