Beaconhouse School System firmly believes that the Student Council are essential to creating a culture of harmony, development, and advancement among the students at a school as they collaborate closely with the school administration and speak for their peers in order to implement constructive adjustments and enhancements.
The BSS I-9 Campus held its council election in September , in accordance with tradition. The shortlisted candidates ran intense campaigns on campus and through campus’s social media. After completing the rigorous process of ranking highest on the criterion sheet, panel interviews, and the final interview with the school head, they were narrowed down to a shortlist.
“The Investiture Ceremony 2023-2024” was a momentous occasion successfully executed by the BSS I-8 Branch and I-9 Campus in Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai Auditorium, Islamabad.
The event provided an opportunity to acknowledge the potential and skills of young leaders who are prepared to assume leadership roles in the schools.
It was a formal event where elected student leaders were vested with their positions, marked by the handing over of symbolic items like sashes for the Executive Council Members and badges for the Class Prefects. The ceremony itself was a grand affair, attended by students, teachers, parents, and the school staff.
Having the Chief Guest for the occasion, Mr. Khawaja Haider Latif, the Regional Director, was an honor. Both the Chief Guest and the Head of School, Ms. Nighat Javed, complimented the students for their efforts in their speeches to the audience. They exhorted the youngsters to keep giving it their all and thanked the parents and teachers for their encouragement and belief in their skills.
The elected members took the oath at the start of the ceremony, promising to carry out their responsibilities with honesty and dedication. During the speeches, the newly elected Head Boy and Head Girl thanked the student body, shared their goals for the future year, and pledged to improve them.
The event also had some lovely musical performances, which furthered the message that leadership is about more than simply taking responsibility; it’s also about having a positive influence on the school community. The student’s musical performance of Sufi Kalam coupled with Iqbal’s well-known verse “Shikwa/Jawab – e- Shikwa” fascinated everyone in the room.
By organizing a successful event in keeping with the long-standing BSS tradition that recognizes young students’ potential for leadership, the BSS I-9 Campus achieved yet another noteworthy milestone.
At the end of the event, the young leaders looked happy and seemed committed to be on a journey that would shape not only their school but also their own personalities and destinies.
