At the start of each academic journey, collaboration between home and school forms the foundation for a child’s success. With this vision, the Parents Curriculum Orientation Sessions for Grade 1 and 2 were conducted with enthusiasm and purpose at Beaconhouse I-9 Campus. The session aimed to familiarize parents with the curriculum, classroom practices, and school policies that will shape their child’s learning experience in Grade 1 & 2.

Session Conduction

The orientation was held in the training hall and was led by the school leadership team. The session emphasized the importance of active parental involvement and open communication. This was followed by presentation, showcasing the academic and co-curricular road map for the year.

Interactive Q&A session was conducted to help parents understand the teaching methodologies, learning milestones, and classroom dynamics.

Agenda of the Orientation

The orientation was structured to address the following key areas:

    • Effective channels for teacher-parent communication (BEAMS App, Google Classrooms and emails).

    • Encouragement of parent participation in school activities and volunteering opportunities.

Targets of the Orientation

The session aimed to achieve the following objectives:

  • Build a strong school-home partnership from the very beginning.

  • Equip parents with a clear understanding of the Grade 1 & 2 curriculum and learning outcomes.

  • Clarify parental roles in supporting homework, reading habits, and behavioral development.

  • Establish trust and transparency between parents and the teaching staff.

  • Provide reassurance and guidance to parents transitioning their children from kindergarten to primary school.
