“Competition teaches you the value of hard work and dedication”
– Kobe Bryant
The atmosphere at Beaconhouse School System I-9 Campus was
charged with excitement and intellectual energy as the Grade 6 students recently participated in the much-anticipated event, META BRAIN. This quiz competition, focused on science and mathematics, not only highlighted the children’ academic brilliance but also recognized their fondness of learning. The event strives to foster not just healthy competition but also a greater knowledge and appreciation for the wonders of science and mathematics.
META BRAIN initiated by the Head Office was organized by the devoted faculty members. The backdrop and the hall was decorated with themed aspects, creating a setting that reflected a blend of education and enjoyment. With a mixture of trepidation and excitement, the contestants were ready to unleash their cerebral power.
The competition had four levels, Meta Level 1 – Winning Wizards which was an Inter-section contest. Winning Wizards then participated in Meta Level 2 – Cluster Champions which was an Inter-branch contest followed by the third phase, Meta Level 3 – Mega Minds which was a Inter –cluster contest. The final event was the Grand Finale – Ultimate Unison which was a stem round for the regional winners. Each event had several rounds, each meant to test children’s knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and rapid thinking. The questions spanned from fundamental principles to difficult problem-solving scenarios, requiring participants to rely on their whole range of scientific and mathematical knowledge.
Buzzer Round served as a warm-up, featuring questions that gauged the students’ grasp of fundamental concepts. The atmosphere was light, with students showcasing their foundational knowledge with confidence. Engineering Round delved into the innovative aspects of science and mathematics. Participants were challenged to think outside the box, applying their knowledge to real-world scenarios and demonstrating
creativity in problem-solving. The tension in the auditorium heightened during the third round – rapid-fire round followed by the fourth round “Math Maze Mania”. Participants faced a barrage of quick-fire questions,
testing not only their depth of knowledge but also their ability to think on their feet. The culmination of each event of META BRAIN was the announcement of the winners. However, BSS also beleives that everyone who competes is a winner because they push themselves, overcome their fear of not succeeding, engage the competition, and acquire priceless experience and information along the way.
Meta Brain level 4 – Ultimate Unison was held at Beaconhouse International
College campus and was hosted by the I-9 campus. Beaconhouse Potohar Campus, Satellite Town Boys branch, Beaconhouse Risalpur, and Beaconhouse Kharian from the North Region were the winning teams in the third level and thus were the participants of this grand finale. The Beaconhouse Potohar Campus took home the Meta Brain Championship.
META BRAIN not only highlighted the strong academic abilities of students, but it also encouraged a love of learning. The competition provided a platform for students to explore the wonderful realms of science and mathematics, encouraging them to consider these topics as thrilling adventures waiting to discover rather than acedemic disciplines.
As the event came to close, it made an unforgettable impression on both participants and observers, emphasizing the school’s dedication to developing well-rounded, inquistive minds.
“The ultimate victory in competition is derived from the inner satisfaction of knowing that you have done your best and that you have gotten the most out of what you had to give.”
– Howard Cosell
