“Inclusion is not about bringing people into what already exists; it is about making a new space, a better space for everyone.”![]()
At Beaconhouse I-9 Campus, inclusion is not just a concept, it is a lived reality embedded in our daily practices. As a school that proudly caters to diverse learning needs, including students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), we marked World Autism Day with meaningful engagement, awareness, and reflection.
The celebration was not limited to a single event; rather, it reflected the collective understanding and empathy nurtured within our school community. Through carefully planned sessions led by the SEN department, students were guided to understand what autism is, appreciate neurodiversity, and most importantly, learn how to interact with kindness, respect, and acceptance. ![]()
What stood out most was the level of awareness among our students. It was evident that this was not new learning for them, but a reinforcement of values already instilled. Students confidently shared their thoughts, demonstrated empathy in their responses, and showed a clear understanding that every individual is unique and deserves to be included and respected. ![]()

This reflects the consistent and dedicated efforts of our SEN department, teaching staff, and administration. Through ongoing guidance, classroom practices, and school-wide initiatives, they have ensured that inclusion is deeply understood rather than superficially observed. Students are not only aware of autism but are also equipped with the social and emotional skills needed to support and include their peers meaningfully.

The celebration reinforced a powerful message: inclusion is everyone’s responsibility. At I-9 Campus, we continue to strive towards creating an environment where every child feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.
