Grandparents are a real gift. They sprinkle the stardust in the lives of the young ones. They are old but genuine. Joyce Allston says and we quote that “Grandparents, like heroes, are as necessary to a child’s growth as vitamins.” They build a family of love and compassion. They nurture us under the umbrella of infinite love and wisdom which can never be forgotten.
Early Years of Beaconhouse School System I-8 & I-9 Campus celebrated “Grandparents Day” with full honor. It was a delightful blend of laughter, wonderful stories, sharing of grandparents’ life experiences, and support towards their grandchildren. Various kinds of activities were organized including Cardmaking because a card is a loving gift for grandparents both near and far, especially if it’s handcrafted. The stone painting was enjoyed both by students and their grandparents. There was a storytelling session as well which took the participants to a magic land, listening to the fantasies as well as real experiences. Different games were played in teams. Children enjoyed making memories through pictures with their grandparents in the photo booths. Souvenirs were also given which gave honor to the grandparents in a school environment.
A day full of color, amusement, and learning was celebrated, and grandparents participated with full zeal and interest. The teachers appreciated the efforts made by the dear grandparents for the little children which nobody else can do. The day ended with laughter and building wonderful memories for life.
