“Feminism isn’t about making women strong. Women are already strong. It’s about changing the way the world perceives that strength.”

The Beaconhouse I-9 Campus celebrated the International Women’s Day which was more than simply a one-day event; it served as a catalyst for raising awareness and instilling principles of empowerment and equality. A significant step was taken by the school to raise a generation that appreciates and promotes gender equality in all areas of life by immersing children in the amazing stories of women who have influenced history.

The campus was decorated in purple tones, which is the official International Women’s Day colour. Students gathered to pay tribute to the achievements of women who have broken conventional standards and made an everlasting mark on the world created a sense of excitement and research.

The stories of women who had made significant contributions in a number of professions fascinated the students. Hazrat Fatima’s hardships struck a profound chord since she embodies both elegance and difficulty. Lieutenant General Nigar Johar Khan, a three-star general in the Pakistan Army who is retired, is the third woman to become a major-general and the first woman in the history of the Pakistan Army to become a lieutenant-general. Praise is also being given to ASP Syeda Shehrbano Naqvi for her bravery in demonstrating the strength of resiliency and the guts to confront injustice.

The focus of discussion in the classrooms was building an inclusive society. Students shared their opinions and suggestions on how they may help make the world equitable. Multiple activities were planned for the classroom to actively involve the children. Students were invited to write letters outlining achievements that have inspired them. These creative endeavours not only displayed the students’ writing abilities but also emphasised the significance of honouring and remembering the successes of women in a broad range of professions.

Everyone felt inspired and empowered at the end of the day. With a deeper understanding of the challenges encountered by women, the students departed with a refereshed dedication to promoting equal opportunity for all. The event acted as a springboard for further discussions and projects within the school to encourage diversity and provide every student the tools they need to realise their greatest potential.
