Honoring Pakistan’s Strong Defence

“The brave hearts of our nation stood tall, defending our land with courage above all.”

Pakistan commemorates the heroic efforts of its armed forces and people who protected the country during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965 on September 6th each year. This day is celebrated with pride, patriotism, and a strong sense of solidarity because it is significant in Pakistani history.

Defence Day is a day for meditation and commemoration as well as celebration. At BSS, we take great delight in honoring this day by encouraging our kids to feel a sense of patriotism and community. We think that by teaching our children about the sacrifices made in the past, we can motivate them to grow up to be obedient, responsible citizens who will support Pakistan’s future development and prosperity.

“Strength is not just in numbers, but in the spirit that never slumbers.”

BSS I-9 Campus organized an event to honor all of our courageous warriors and to inform the next generation of the importance of our armed services and their valor. The students participated in a variety of activities and had a virtual tour of the military museum. They learned about the war’s historical context in 1965, and during this trying time, the entire country remained unified.

The guest speaker was invited to talk to the students and share first-hand knowledge of Defence Day in an effort to enrich the day’s educational and inspirational content. The guest gave students a clearer appreciation of the significance of the day and the commitment of those who protected our country via their tales and insights. The students got to know that the 17-day-long war ended on September 22, 1965, when both sides agreed to the United Nations-administered ceasefire though Pakistan’s strong defence not only crushed the Indian military but also thumped the Indian motives and retaliated so strongly that the enemy forces escaped back to their country. Students from different grades also show their admiration for the participants of the war event by reciting poetry and presenting choir followed by a very energetic question-answer session. Students asked different questions about the war, army, air force, and navy and the guest speaker replied to all their queries. The souvenir was then presented to the guests.

“In the darkest hours, their light shines bright; our defenders’ bravery is an awe-inspiring sight.”

A historical documentary about the eve    nts leading up to and occurring during the 1965 war was also shown. Students were able to better understand the challenges and sacrifices made by our armed personnel and civilians by connecting with the past through this visual representation.

We owe it to the blood, sweat, and tears of our valiant armed forces for standing their ground and ensuring the safety of millions. Wishing all Pakistanis a Happy Defence Day!
