To our parents, families, staff, and community: if you’ve noticed an extra spark of excitement around our campus lately, there is a wonderful reason for it. Over the past few weeks, our middle school hosted its annual Student Council elections. While the colorful posters and energetic hallway speeches were hard to miss, what happened behind the scenes was an inspiring showcase of character, responsibility, and modern student leadership.
Long before a single campaign banner was hung, our prospective candidates went through a comprehensive selection process designed to measure true leadership. We believe that representing one’s peers begins in the classroom. Candidates were evaluated on their academic standing, in-class engagement, dependable punctuality, and strong communication skills. Beyond grades the selection committee looked closely at their soft skills; how they collaborate in groups, demonstrate empathy, and model respect for teachers and classmates every day.
Next came a milestone that built real-world confidence:
Sitting across the table to discuss their vision for the school, candidates answered tough, thoughtful questions about handling responsibilities, resolving conflict, and making every student feel included. With remarkable poise and courage, these young adults stepped up to the mic, articulated their ideas, and proved they were ready to serve our school community.
Once the official nominees were announced, the campaign trail officially began!
The hallways transformed into a vibrant display of student creativity and school spirit. Candidates crafted clever slogans, gave impressive presentations during homeroom, and engaged in respectful discussions about how to make our school an even better place to learn and grow. It was inspiring to watch our students practice positive campaigning, encouraging one another and listening to their classmates’ feedback.
On Voting Day, our school took democracy into the digital age with digital e-voting.
Using a secure online portal, students cast their confidential votes digitally on school computers and tablets. This modern setup gave our middle schoolers hands-on experience with contemporary civic practices showing them how technology and modern voting systems make participation accessible, efficient, and accurate. A quiet sense of pride filled the rooms as students submitted their choices with the click of a button.
The entire journey culminated in an unforgettable school assembly.
With the gym packed to capacity and buzzing with excitement, our Headmistress, Ms. Ayesha Shams, took the stage to announce the official results. As each elected student’s name was called, the entire gym erupted into pure jubilation! Vibrant bhangra beats echoed through the gymnasium, and the air was filled with high-fives, roaring cheers, and congratulatory slogans celebrating our new leaders.

Congratulations on earning your roles through dedication and hard work. To the parents and families who supported, encouraged, and helped prepare these candidates every step of the way: thank you for nurturing such thoughtful young leaders. And to every student who raised their hand, braved the interviews, and stepped up to run……. you demonstrated extraordinary courage and made our entire school community immensely proud!
