Learning with Celebration – Life at BSS/I-9 Campus

BSS works on the vision that an amalgam of learning and extra-circular activities plays an imperative role in an individual’s life. Non-Academic learning has no age bars and defines the inner passion of the students that must be followed. It helps the students to mingle with each other irrespective of their grade or section and could become a true learning community.

“When it comes to extracurricular activities, many children are getting too much of a good thing.”

-Carl Honore

In the 2nd term, BSS I-9 Campus had four options of club activities for the students to choose from; Artisan’s Club, Cultural Playhouse Club, Culinary Club, and Balladry Club. Each club had a set of accomplishments to display on this culmination day which was adored and witnessed by a big number of students and their families.

It was wonderful to observe students exhibiting their learning in an artisan’s club. It was evident that students benefited greatly from the artisan’s club in terms of developing their creativity and learning new skills in fields such as painting, sculpting, woodworking, and other crafts. They were being able to express themselves artistically and were showing their improved fine motor skills, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.

Students of the Cultural Playhouse Club prepared and performed on a play inspired by “Arabian Nights” which is a rich and complicated novel with several characters, storylines, and themes helped students learning to produce a drama based on this narrative will need to comprehend the original material and its numerous subtleties. Their mesmerizing performance ensured that they were devoted to putting in the time and effort necessary to develop their acting talents since performing theatre needs a lot of expertise and practice.

Students who participated in Culinary Club Cooking shared their favorite recipes from the UAE region. They let the visitors taste and talk about their flavors and sensations.

Students who participated in the Balladry Club sang beautiful songs from the countries like Morocco, UAE, and Lebanon.

Students from all Pre-Nursery to Grade 8 participated with full zeal and displayed their learning in a wonderful way.

It was indeed one of the most memorable days of this academic year and the BSS I-9 campus marked the best display of a learning community where parents, students, and teachers were equally reaching out to each other.
