Igniting Young Minds from Grade 1 to Grade 5

Innovation, creativity, and hands-on learning came alive at Beaconhouse School System  I-9 Campus during our exciting 3-Day Robotics Workshop conducted for students from Grade 1 to Grade 5. The workshop was designed to introduce young learners to the fascinating world of robotics and problem-solving in an engaging and age-appropriate manner. BSS I-9 did an exceptional partnership with “Robotronics Pakistan”.

Robotronics Pakistan (Private) Limited is an SECP-registered EdTech institute, pioneering Robotics and
Skill Development education since 2019. They have partnered with some of the most renowned educational institutions and are a registered vendor of the British Council for implementing STEM projects across Pakistan.

From curious first graders to confident fifth graders, each student had the opportunity to explore, build, and program their robots! This workshop was conducted in a continuation of our “Robotics Club” designed for our Lower Primary classes. The students were divided into different slots where they can explore their imaginations regarding Robots and machines and have a hands-on experience of working with Robotics Team.

Day 1: Introduction to Robotics – Building the Foundation

The workshop began with an energetic introduction to the world of robotics. Students were introduced to:

  • What robots are and how they help in daily life
  • Basic components of a robot (sensors, motors, controllers)

To spark excitement, facilitators demonstrated simple robots in action, showcasing how coding brings machines to life. The day ended with enthusiastic Q&A sessions, where students asked brilliant questions about robots, artificial intelligence, and futuristic technology.

Day 2: Hands-on Experiences

Day two was all about action and creativity! Students worked in teams to assemble their robotic kits. Collaboration, teamwork, and communication were strongly encouraged throughout the session.

Learning Highlights:

  • Understanding sensors (light, motion, touch)
  • Programming simple movements
  • Testing robotic models

Younger students built simple moving robots, while senior grades programmed robots to avoid obstacles, and respond to commands. The classroom buzzed with excitement as students watched their creations move for the first time — a truly magical moment!

Day 3: Innovation Challenge & Showcase

The final day focused on creativity and problem-solving. Students were given mini challenges such as:

  • Hands-on experience to design a robot to help in daily life
  • Programming a robot to complete a specific task

Robotronics Team presented their robots confidently, explaining:

How their robot works

What problem it solves

What improvements they would make in the future

The showcase highlighted not only technical learning but also public speaking and critical thinking skills.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the workshop, students had developed:

✔ Basic understanding of robotics and automation
✔ Introduction to coding concepts
✔ Enhanced problem-solving abilities
✔ Teamwork and collaboration skills
✔ Increased confidence in STEM learning

Most importantly, students discovered that learning technology can be fun, creative, and empowering!

Certificate Distribution

To celebrate their hard work, creativity, and enthusiastic participation, all students were awarded Certificates of participation at the end of the 3-Day Robotics Workshop.

 A Step Towards Future Innovators

The Robotics Workshop at Beaconhouse School System successfully nurtured curiosity and innovation among our young learners. Events like these prepare students for a technology-driven future while building essential 21st-century skills. We are proud of our budding engineers, coders, and innovators who embraced this experience with enthusiasm and creativity.
