Sufi music seeks to unite listeners with the Divine by speaking to the soul about love, peace and harmony. Students and parents of BSTRB were treated to an evening of soulful and engaging Mehfil-e-Qawali.
It brought together illustrious qawwals, Sabri Qawal and Abdul Samad along with their ensembles, and they left everyone spellbound with their mystic music.
Qawali Night started with an upbeat version of “Tajdar-e-Haram” and they paid tribute to legendary Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan by performing “Dil lagi” and “Allah ho”.
The flicker of diyas and lights, the flame of the bonfire, the thap of Tablah and bouyant harmonium were delightfully in sync… an evening to cherish and a memory to smile.
