An inspiring panel discussion was exclusively structured in connection with the global dignity day celebration being held by BMI-B, the objective was to raise awareness for transgender rights and dignity.

In the panel discussion, transgender issues were highlighted and some useful and applicable proposals and measurements were suggested for sustainable human rights. Transgender people frequently contend with serious challenges to living lives of dignity. They face elevated risks of violent assault, discrimination in employment and healthcare, and social, legal, and political hostility. But we are hopeful for a change because change is possible.

The panel discussion was found to be an effective approach to improve self-reported knowledge, awareness, and interest about transgender. Although transgender individuals are more visible in today’s society than in the past, it was striking how many students commented on how eye-opening the discussion was.

The panelists had conducted a thorough research about the problems faced by the transgender. Moreover, some workable suggestions were shared. Headmistress Mrs. Rukhsana Shehzad appreciated students’ clarity and in depth understanding of such a sensitive topic which they delineated with such skill and mastery.

Transgender people are the marginalized minorities in Pakistan in terms of their status, development and related conditions.
