For the Champion

Our very own Jawad Dar, President Student Council IBDP bagged great honour when he won a Silver in ‘Twin Cities 14 August 2022 District Boxing Tournament’. He has a lot of dreams to pursue boxing in future too. However, our youth both girls and boys dream to be recognized as aspiring boxers, representing Pakistan on international level but unfortunately give up on their dreams for lack of resources and support.

Regarding sport opportunities for youth, there is a widening gap between developed and developing countries. Genuinely linked to a shortage of physical education and sport for all programmes, a lack of financing for sport, few sport facilities and little equipment, a ‘muscle drain’ to developed countries, and lack of infrastructure to host major sporting events with the result that developing countries have fewer world-level sport performances than developed countries. All these factors are a major contributors for the death of dreams.

Sports we know help in elevating qualities like discipline, determination, teamwork and a passion for fitness in the psyche of a nation.
