At Beaconhouse School System<\/strong>, something truly magical happened every week. A fluffy companion, affectionately known as “Home Buddy,”<\/strong> embarked on exciting adventures with our youngest learners in the Early Years<\/strong>. This beloved teddy bear wasn\u2019t just a cute toy; it was a key part of a thoughtfully designed program that fostered social<\/strong>, communication<\/strong>, and confidence<\/strong> skills in our little ones.<\/p>\n

What Was the Take Home Buddy Program?<\/h3>\n

The Take Home Buddy<\/strong> initiative encouraged students to bring this soft, adorable teddy bear home for a day or two. During this time, students were tasked with taking care of Home Buddy, introducing it to their family, and involving it in their daily routines. It wasn\u2019t just about play; it was an opportunity for our students to learn, grow, and shine!<\/strong><\/p>\n

How Did It Work?<\/h3>\n

  1. The Home Visit:<\/strong> Each child had their turn to take Buddy home. They were encouraged to treat Buddy like a special guest, including it in everyday activities such as mealtimes<\/strong>, story time<\/strong>, or even an outing to the park.<\/li>\n
  2. Creative Documentation:<\/strong> Parents played a vital role in the program by capturing photos and videos of their child with Home Buddy. These moments highlighted their creativity, interaction, and excitement, showcasing how children engaged with their new \u201cfriend.\u201d<\/li>\n
  3. Show and Share:<\/strong> When the child returned to school, they had the opportunity to share their adventures with the class. This included showing photos, narrating stories, or talking about their favorite moments with Home Buddy.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
