My First Day of the New School Session

Summer vacations were great fun. I got to do many adventures with my family. But as the break neared its end, I had a mixed sense of anxiety and excitement. In the last week, we started preparing for our new session.

On the day itself, I got up early and wore my new uniform and shoes. My mum made me a yummy breakfast which kick-started my day with energy. I was a bit nervous, but she gave me a warm hug and said everything would be okay.

My mother dropped me at school. The Principal and Coordinator greeted all the children at the school gate, even though it was heavily raining. The school entrance was decorated with colorful balloons and a “Welcome Back” banner. I went to my new classroom and met my friends and teacher. Our new class teacher introduced herself and asked us to share our vacation experiences.

I felt a little nervous that the teacher might ask questions from the previous grade, but her comforting words assured us that she would conduct a reinforcement session in the first week before starting the new syllabus. Then, we learned many new things and did amazing activities in other subject classes.

During break time, my friends and I shared our summer vacation adventures. We had a few more classes after the break, and before I knew it, it was pack-up time. Our Head Ma’am Samar gifted every child a sapling as a symbol of growth and new beginnings, which made the day even more special. I left school with exciting stories to tell my mom and dad about my first day back.

It indeed was a lovely day!
