Grandma’s Magic: A Very Special Storytelling Session at Nursery

There’s nothing quite like story time in the nursery. A usual teacher-led storytelling session was transformed into something truly special with a visit from Ayesha’s grandmother, who came to share her favourite childhood stories with our little adventurers.

The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement. Having a guest reader is not just a treat; it is a beautiful way to connect our classroom to the wider community and introduce children to new voices and perspectives. Grandparents have a way of making everything feel a little more magical.

The library was transformed into the coziest reading corner, complete with soft cushions and warm lights. Students sat comfortably on the floor with cushions and plush toys, while Grandma radiated warmth and kindness. She brought a cherished book, “The Thirsty Crow,” a classic tale about wisdom, logical thinking, and creativity.

From the moment she opened the book, the children were captivated. They were not just listening — they became part of the story.

What made this session truly valuable was the intergenerational connection it created, the rich language modeled through expressive storytelling, and the sense of wonder it sparked.

The children happily learned the moral of the story: “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.”

“Stories shared from the heart create memories that last a lifetime.”

A heartfelt thank you to Grandma for sharing her time and talent with us. It truly was a highlight of the month!
