During the guest lecture Meera’n Malik , a distinguished Educational Leader, Social Entrepreneur, and Trainer with an impressive career spanning over 30 years in esteemed
organizations across Pakistan honoured us with her presence for the E-STEAM Grade 5 project, named Eco-writers . She shared insights into the world of children’s books and how they can be used as a tool to raise awareness about specific populations of animals and plants in our environment.
Meera explained that children’s books are not just entertaining but also educational, as they can teach young readers about different species and their habitats, as well as environmental issues such as conservation and sustainability. She emphasized the importance of creating books that are both informative and engaging, as this can help children develop a lifelong love for nature and the environment.
Meera provided examples of endangered species and their habitats that could be featured in their books, as well as tips on how to research and write about these topics in an age-appropriate way.
The students left feeling inspired and motivated to create books that would not only entertain but also educate their younger peers about our environment and its inhabitants. They were grateful for Meera’s insights and expertise, and they looked forward to putting her advice into practice as they embarked on their E-Steam journey .
