Every year our school celebrates a very special event called the Drama Festival. During this exciting event, each class performs a role play on stage. Before the festival, the whole school becomes busy with preparations. The school administration carefully plans the event, while teachers guide their classes in preparing their performances. Every student participates with great enthusiasm, excitement, and teamwork.
My class, Grade 4, performed the “Revolting” scene from the movie Matilda by Roald Dahl. I had the wonderful opportunity to play the role of Miss Honey, Matilda’s teacher. Miss Honey is known for being very kind, gentle, and soft-spoken, so I tried my best to perform the character calmly and gracefully. Our performance was carefully supervised and guided by Miss Amna and Miss Nabeela, who helped us practise and improve every day.
As the festival day came closer, the excitement in the whole school grew stronger. Everyone talked about their performances, costumes, and dialogues. We could hardly wait for the big day to arrive!
Finally, the long-awaited day came when all our hard work and preparation had to be presented on stage in front of parents, teachers, and students.
When it was our turn to perform on the big stage, I felt both nervous and excited. Just before the curtains opened, my heart whispered to me, “You can do it. Just don’t be overconfident or frightened on stage.” I took a deep breath to calm myself.
Then suddenly, the curtains opened wide and our performance began.
Standing on stage and performing with my classmates was an uplifting and unforgettable experience. I truly enjoyed every moment and also loved watching the creative performances of other classes.
This day was very special and memorable for me, and I believe this beautiful experience will stay in my heart forever.
