“Embrace the heritage, celebrate the spirit. In the arena of tradition, every game is a story, and every athlete a living legend. Welcome to the timeless glory of Traditional Sports Week.”

At Beaconhouse School System E-11 campus, the heartbeat of cultural diversity pulsates through every corridor, creating an environment where students not only learn but also celebrate their rich heritage. The annual Traditional Sports Week stands as a testament to the school’s commitment to building confidence, value, and global awareness among its students.

During this vibrant week, the campus resonates with the echoes of traditional games from the 19th century, bringing to life the Golden Age of play. From the rhythmic interlocking of hands in the game of “keekli” to the strategic thrill of “kho kho,” each activity is a journey into the past, filled with enthusiasm and joy.

The early year students immersed themselves in the whimsical world of games like “kok lachpati” and “pakran pakrayee,” where laughter echoed through the air. Grade 1 students revealed in the excitement of “Ankh Micholi,” a blindfolded chase that added an element of surprise and camaraderie.

Grade 2 students honed their concentration and balance skills through the age-old game of “Stapo,” a delightful variation of hopscotch. The intense competition of “Pithoo Garam” instilled a win-win mindset as teams strategized to knock down and rebuild a tower, dodging balls with agility.

The traditional game of “Bandar Qila” brought third-grade students together, promoting teamwork and agility. Meanwhile, the exhilarating chase and strategic techniques of “Kho Kho” had Grade 5 students on the edge of their seats, basking in the joy of friendly competition.

Beaconhouse School System’s traditional Sports Week is more than just a series of games; it’s a journey into the roots of play, where heritage comes alive, and students experience the timeless joy of traditional games. As the laughter and cheers echo through the school grounds, it’s evident that these cultural activities not only entertain but also create lasting memories and a sense of shared history among the students.
