  1. Introduction: Exploring Music, Art and Sound to communicate emotions.

Engineers create new things for the benefit of society; they apply their understanding of the science of sound waves to the invention and evolution of many devices and products used daily for improved living, safety or prevention of harm. Sonar, alarms and stereo equipment are just a few of the many items that engineers have designed. To develop the technologies necessary to create these items, engineers must thoroughly understand how sound is produced and how sound waves work.
An important aspect of music is understanding the frequency of sound produced; notes with different frequencies make different sounds.
To equip our learners, Term 1 E-steam was based on a basic understanding of the coherence of science, music and arts with a special reference to emotions and their expression.
Project Idea Enquiry Question was;
How can we use sound/ music to communicate and evoke emotions; and express it with an art piece?
Students created their musical instruments and art pieces to show their understanding about the topic.

In the E-STEAM program, the art’s lesson was a captivating exploration of emotions through Vincent Van Gogh’s masterpiece, “The Starry Night.” This iconic painting, known for its swirling night sky and vivid colours, served as a canvas for students to express their feelings. This interdisciplinary approach not only honed their artistic skills but also provided a unique avenue for understanding and expressing complex emotions.
