Global Dignity Day aims to “instill a positive, inclusive and interconnected sense of value in young people that will guide them as they grow.

On Global Dignity Day, everyone, everywhere is encouraged to look beyond what divides us and recognize the humanity we share. Often, it is celebrated with inspirational and/or interactive events to engage people of any age in understanding dignity—every person’s inherent and equal worth.

To rejoice that essence, classes of Lower Primary of E11 Campus were engaged into various activities, dialogues and poster making etc. Throughout the week, they had been involved into ponderings and discussions to understand the true spirit of the concept of dignity. Teachers invariably reinforce the notion that we all are equal and that every life deserves a certain amount of dignity, no matter how poor or damaged the shell that carries it.

Behaving with dignity and respect towards children and young people involves respecting their views, their choices and decisions, not making assumptions about how they want to be treated and working with care and compassion. Those who receive care and support are able to make choices about the care they receive. Global Dignity Day is not an event, it is a process, a process to bring the positive change in the world, to positively instill the ability in our children to see everyone with the same lens.

Today’s children are the custodian of tomorrow’s world. We have to attempt and ensure to leave this world in better hands, better than ours!
