Parent-Teacher Conference
Parents play a fundamental role in their children’s life. They are the mainstays of support, guidance, and affection. Family is where life begins and no matter how old a child gets there’s nothing more comforting and soothing than their parent’s arms.
“Behind every young child who believes in himself is a parent who believed first”
        Matthew Jacobson
Also, children carry what they are taught in schools throughout the rest of their lives. They will use what they have learned to impact society. Everyone knows that today’s youth will become tomorrow’s leaders, and teachers have access to educate the youth in their most receptive years — whether that is in teaching preschool, teaching extracurricular, sports, or traditional classes. Teachers spot the worth of each child and always encourage & praise the children whenever they do something good.
We can understand the highest rank of teachers from the Quote of Hazrat Ali (RA) in which He (RA) stated:
“If a person teaches me one single word, he has made me his servant for a lifetime. “
Management at BKI f-8/2 understands completely that when parents and teachers have positive connections, students develop an exceptional trust in their teachers. Children know that both parties are invested in their development and work more intentionally to reach their academic goals.
Parent-teacher Conference is one of the imperative activities of BKI. It is a great prospect for both the teacher and parents to work for the advancement of the child. At BKI, PTMs are duly arranged during each term however frequent meetings are also arranged throughout the term with the principal, PRO, coordinators, and teachers so there are no surprises. Parents are always requested to join these meetings with priority.
Teachers at BKI are well trained to accept and reflect on parent feedback, show empathy to parents by being sure to share student successes as much as student challenges to help parents maintain momentum as they work to provide for all of their child’s many needs.
Therefore, the campus had its 1st Parent-Teacher conference for the current academic year on 6th November 2021. Parents were well informed about the schedule of the meeting and were given an opportunity to share their concerns in writing prior to the meeting.
Teachers at the campus were all set to discuss the progress of their child, listening to their apprehensions and discussing some mutually agreed way forward for the progress of their child. The basic goal was the appraisal of the academic and non-academic performance of children.
Every parent was given ample time to discuss various aspects of their child’s time in the school like:
–        Parents were explained with academic objectives and plans to reach out to the expectations
–        Academic progress, favorite subject, and participation in extracurricular activities
–        Handgrip of a child overstress or challenges
–        Whether or not they are comfortable in a leadership role or do they prefer to work on their own along
–        Child’s performance in terms of grade-level standards
–        Whether or not a child keeping up with homework assignments and is participative in the class
–        Plans to prepare a child for standardized assessments
–        Any other area that requires most of the effort to put in
–        Behavior and conduct of a child with peers
Every individual meeting was clinched after agreeing upon strategies and goals as a way forward for the child’s overall progress in the school. It was a successful event and team BKI deserves cheers for keeping up a healthy relationship with every individual child and their parent on campus.“Education is a shared commitment between dedicated teachers, motivated students, and enthusiastic parents with high expectations”
