Introduction of a new Urdu reader with a celebration

Spring is here Spring is here.
How do you think I know?
I just saw a bluebird.
That is how I know.

I played this song in the class and we all loved singing it. Weather indeed is on the verge of changing and everyone is looking forward to our most favorite forthcoming season, the SPRING season.

While enjoying the song, I probed my children to talk about what they like about this season, and they gave some pleasing answers like, we see more birds, we like flowers, we like picnics, and even a few said that they don’t like taking washes during winters, and I predominantly enjoyed such answers..lol.

Spring season symbols the end of blazing winter and the transitional period to scorching summer. Many birds that journeyed due to cold winters start coming back to their hometown; we see many baby animals jumping, bumblebees, and butterflies all around. Windy plus sunny days make everyone plans to go out for picnics, as across the seasons, research has found that taking walks in nature slows your heart rate and makes you more relaxed, but some research indicates that there is something special about spring’s effect on your brain. A 2005 study from the University of Michigan linked spending 30 minutes or more outside in warm, sunny spring weather to a higher mood and better memory. So even scientifically, the spring season has a positive impact on us.

BKI-f8/2 had some distinctive plans to kick start the season, a spring festival to introduce their new Urdu reader, “JASHAN E BAHARAAN”. I must appreciate that this requires a well thoughtful pre-planning behind the event to start the reader well integrated with the real-time season’s time.

A beautiful sunny day with a scheme best suited to the season. The front lawn of the school had balloons signifying all the colors of the spring season. Children were well prepared to come on stage and exchange their prior knowledge on different aspects of this season. Children and teachers were outfitted in vibrant attire and smiles on everyone’s faces were the evidence of true happiness in all hearts.

They went through the cover page of their reader and predicted the content and this pre-discussion and share of knowledge about the season categorically will help them to do well in the class.

This event was not only to introduce a reader or celebrate spring, it was also a very thoughtful way of promoting the URDU language in our children. The presentations were then followed by an art activity where children learned to make beautiful followers with simple supplies like straws, some colorful paper, and glue.

This is one of many things that I adore about this campus; they always strategize to make children learn some unusual concept in a very modest way.

I relished the whole event as a spectator or maybe that very well-organized event full of awareness and cheerfulness couldn’t let me walk away. While leaving, I still was singing:

Spring is here Spring is here.
How do you think I know?
I just saw a bluebird.
That is how I know.
