Discipline in Life Leads to  the Acknowledgment of Self-Worth

“Motivation gets you going, but discipline gets you growing”

–        John C Maxwell

Self-worth leads to the understanding that self-control and discipline in children’s lifetime mean functioning with all morality with strict obedience to cultural standards. School is the place where children get the first perception of the self-control and thus becomes the arena that helps you recognize your self-worth by being disciplined and pushes you to strengthen it each day.

When a child gets a hold of him and learns to analyze the outcomes of his actions, he will habitually become disciplined in his own self, it’s stress-free for them to be on top of things, i.e., their studies and self-management in personal lives. Discipline helps in managing the work in a planned manner. Discipline also helps the students stay stress-free and also averts them from falling into despair. These attributes emerge in one’s personality when they marked the importance of recognizing their self-worth.

BKI f8/2 understands the importance of inculcating discipline as the primary skill in children and aims to inculcate the importance of both self-discipline and academic discipline.

Children develop a sense of responsibility by using youth/adult relationships and sharing clear rules. Teachers introduce discipline to their children as mandatory for life as is oxygen. Right from the early years (pre-nursery) up till upper primary (grade 5), the children got to meet the word self-worth with its actual meaning and practically starts embedding it in their everyday routine by exhibiting it in their own actions as the easiest mode of learning is when one learns through your actions.

With practice and following the exemplary footsteps, they self-learn how to greet when entering the school and class, how to line up whilst waiting for their turn outside the washroom, water dispenser or at the canteen, raise hands and take turns in the classroom, wait for their turn, and not to interrupt, keep their desks clean, taking care and packing up their own belongings, thus every action is a reflection of discipline as an integral part of their priming in school.

Being disciplined and appreciative of self-worth has been taken as a skill in BKI as this skill helps children to stay attentive to the task that they are doing and manage the work in a prearranged manner. It helps them stay driven and keeps that fire burning so that they can get the best out of their education as well as inspires them to remain active, healthy, and energetic. Most importantly, self-disciplined students may also serve as role models for their classmates. It is the key to instilling in you the skill to realize that no matter what the circumstances ate, and regardless of what happens outside of you, you alone control how you feel about yourself.
