The future scientists, doctors, researchers of Pakistan, our BMI IB students visited the National Agriculture Research centre as a part of their science tour. Their itinerary included visiting the Ecotoxicology Institute of Plant and Environment Protection (IPEP), Aflatoxin Crop Diseases Research Institute (CDRI), and the National Herbarium Labs Bio-Resources Conservation Institute (BCI).
IB encourages students to explore the workings of the real world. From witnessing firsthand, the application of GCMS, GCMS Mass spectrometer, Infrared spectrometer in ecotoxicology, to observing the procedure of aflatoxin detection in chillies, advanced microscopes, PCR machine, and other equipment used in research at the aflatoxin lab, students got enriching experience of the science world. Not just this, they witnessed the preservation of rare plants such as Victoria and Saffron, grown in extraordinary environments at the National Herbarium.
This stupendous trip was perfected by the insights scientists and researchers gave our students on their IAs.
