Clay Expression Workshop – The Clay Project
The Textile Club organized an engaging Clay Expression Workshop, titled The Clay Project,
conducted by Minahil Raees and Aneesa Masood, graduates of the National College of Arts
(NCA). Both artists are experienced sculptors who brought valuable professional insight and hands-on expertise to the session.
The session was attended by A Level students, including students of Art &
Design.
Participants created clay sculptures inspired by their portfolio themes, allowing them to translate conceptual ideas into three-dimensional forms. During the workshop, students learned basic clay-handling techniques, explored new forms, and developed confidence as beginners.
The artists guided students’ step by step, encouraging experimentation, patience, and creative exploration.
The final outcomes were impressive, with students producing expressive and well-thought-out sculptures. Most importantly, the students thoroughly enjoyed the session, finding it both educational and fun. The workshop encouraged them to step out of their comfort zones, explore new creative skills professionally, and understand the importance of patience and practice in the artistic process.
Overall, The Clay Project proved to be a successful and enriching experience, contributing positively to students’ artistic growth and portfolio development
