Fashion & Textile Club: Session 1
Activity: Ceramics – Shaping Dreams
The Fashion & Textile Club organized its first session, “Ceramics: Shaping Dreams”, on Wednesday, 10th September. Proposed by Fatima Ayub and Alizey Ehtisham (President and General Secretary), along with Gul and Fatima (Vice President and Vice General Secretary), and supervised by Miss Maryam Saleem Akhtar, the session offered students a therapeutic and creative experience.
Participants explored the art of ceramics by using molds, plaster of Paris, and other materials to design mini trays, coasters, and floral models. The activity encouraged them to experiment with form and texture while appreciating the raw beauty of the finished pieces. Many students chose not to paint their work, finding elegance in the natural aesthetic of their creations.
Beyond the artistic outcome, the session emphasized patience, focus, and attention to detail, qualities essential in both art and life. Students discovered the value of process-based learning, developing practical skills alongside creative confidence. The environment of the art room fostered collaboration and joy, leaving participants inspired to think outside the box.
Overall, the session proved to be both enriching and enjoyable, allowing students to express themselves while gaining meaningful experience in ceramic work.
