A focus group discussion was organised at Beaconhouse Bahria Town Senior Campus as the activity of Environmental Awareness Week. Mr Moazam Nazir, Manager of Operations TDCP, graced the occasion as the Guest Speaker.

In an engaging conversation with the students, he shared how Pakistan has a great potential for eco-tourism due to the richness of the regions in flora, fauna and ecosystem types. Despite the great potential, this industry is progressing at a relatively slower pace for different reasons including poor accessibility and infrastructure, ineffective marketing, lack of investment and participation in the private sector, cooperation of government institutions and tourism operators and limited acceptability of local communities.

Mr Moazam stressed the need of making responsible choices such as group tours, conservation projects and wildlife protection. He also advised being respectful towards the local communities through our small, individual actions through which we can make this world a better world.
