Inter-House Cricket Tournament

On April 26, 2023 – Beaconhouse Bahria Town Senior Campus held a mega event that would officially mark itself in the school’s history. The event was the greatest yet held and would be the best and most enjoyable for cricket lovers. Yes, Beaconhouse held, in the best interests of cricket, an Inter-house cricket tournament – an event appreciated and loved by almost the whole school. Four teams faced each other in the tournament, based on the four houses: EDHI, IQBAL, SIR SYED and JINNAH. There were four matches to be held. The tournament started with an opening ceremony, which consisted of amazing commentary by a student – the recitation of the Holy Quran – and finally, our Principal and the Section Head (both women) coming to the ground to have a great 3-ball match (They both did some amazing power-hitting.). Now came the time to start the tournament. As the background music rose, four captains shook hands as two flipped the coin to begin the match.
Four overs, 24 balls – each with its own excitement. The first game brought the defeat of Edhi House as Jinnah House (with quite an easy win) went straight to the final. I am pretty sad to say the next match was a bad one as my team was able to score only 17 runs and, so, Sir Syed House was defeated badly too by Iqbal House. Now took place a match that would decide between the two defeated teams, the 3rd and 4th positions. Our house (Sir Syed) won from Edhi House; we secured 3rd position at the points table. Finally – the wait over, the excitement at its peak – the grand finale began. What a match! I had never seen one. Both teams fought for their positions: Iqbal defeated Jinnah House and won the final position.
But whatever anybody says, I have only one thing to say, ‘Although we had secured third position – still the event is and will remain my most loved and liked one.’
