BBTMUN: COMMITTEE DIRECTORS AND CHAIRS

“All true strong people are kind.”

Greetings everyone! My name’s Bilal, and I’ll be your Committee Director for this year’s BBTMUN.
I expect all delegates to bring value to the committee by adding their creative mix to their oratory, legislation and diplomacy instead of simply regurgitating whatever the UN stated in the 1950s.
But more importantly, I expect all delegates to be kind to one another, as that is the first step towards diplomacy.
With that being said, I hope to have a great 2 days with you guys. But don’t expect me & my fellow CD to go easy on you guys. If I was you guys, my timbers would be shivering right now.

Do your best!

ATTENTION DELEGATES! While I enjoy practising humility, my enthusiasm for debating and odd adventures throughout some of Lahore’s most prestigious Model UN conferences have served me well in transitioning into a well-rounded and experienced dias member and debater. Every experience, good or bad, is a catalyst for growth, and this will prove to be one of those.

“Malaika’s mere presence inspires a wave of fear and concern amongst weaklings in a committee. If I were in your shoes, I’d be shaking in my boots.”

Malaika Mohsin,
Committee Director – UNGA
BBTMUN’23

Abdullah was the first international best delegate award for his college – and subsequently part of the first Pakistani Delegations that represented Pakistan at World Internationals and BIMUN at Tashkent, Uzbekistan and Baku, Azerbaijan, respectively.

He has trained Pakistan’s official Delegation for Harvard Model UN Boston, 2023; Pakistan’s Delegation to FWWMUN, New York, HQ 2020; and Pakistan’s Delegation to Arab Youth International Model UN, 2020.

In 2022, he was selected to chair the Legal Committee at Cals College Nieuwegein and to chair Historical Security Council at the Europe International Model United Nations, the Hague, Netherlands, which is the oldest continental model UN conference in Europe. It made him the first Pakistani in 37 years to do so. He also has chaired, managed and spoken at over 150+ conferences.

He attended the World Bank Group Annual Youth Conference and was invited to become part of the SDG Global Goals Initiative with the UN Emirati Office, at Expo site 2020, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

When he’s not playing tennis or studying law, he renders his services as a Public Speaking coach at various institutions.

He wishes everyone a pleasant welcome to the largest-ever single-committee General Assembly hosted by the Beaconhouse Bahria Town and hopes for a productive networking experience between the institutions taking part.

Hania Akhlaq has been in the model United Nations circuit for 6 years. From attending some of the biggest MUNs in Lahore to organising them, her experience is vast. Having 5 Declamation 1st prize medals under her belt, her public speaking endeavours aren’t just limited to MUN, as she has over 2 years of experience with parliamentary debating competitions, declamations and hybrid styles such as those adopted in the Worlds scholar cup. However, don’t let these accolades distract you from her fun, energetic and passionate personality. With her exceptional ability to articulate each word in a manner nothing short of art, her words fill the room with her contagious confidence and positivity. She will be joining our MUN as a judge.

Greetings delegates!

I am Muhammad Areeb Khan. I will be serving as the chair for UNGA. Apart from being an active member of my debates society in school life – I am a lawyer by profession. I have worked for ABS & Co. and now working in the civil and district courts. I’ve had the pleasure of working with the National Command Authority, Strategic Plans Division & TCS concerning advisory on various international conventions and domestic laws. I feel MUNs are immensely important to not only engage the youth in a constructive activity but also serve as a training ground for impactful adults by teaching the art of civilized dialogue.

Hoping to see you all soon. Best of Luck!
