Everyone is aware of the importance of parents’ orientation in school. Such events help parents learn about their kid’s school, faculty, classroom, etc Orientation is an important part of children’s transition to school. It is an event or series of events that orientate children and families to significant features of their new school environment. Orientation occurs at a specific point in time as part of the longer-term process of children’s transition to school.
There’s one thing we all have in common: the first day of school. A special day for students and teachers. A day full of emotions. Stress, fear, relief, happiness and joy. Starting school is a big step for all children and their families. Orientation days give you the opportunity to see how your child interacts and copes with new people and places too.
To get off to a great start LMA organized an orientation session for the new parents of Pre Nursery from 22nd to 24th of August 2022.A well-planned orientation was planned to establish strong relationships with new parents and students. Our tiny tots were engaged in a free and carefully structured play to get familiar with school environment. Parents were given hands on experience of different interactive and fun activities which gave them an insight of the classroom teaching and learning strategies and observed the different learning areas of the classroom. Students were part of many fun filled activities which were divided into three days.
Day 1
. A buzz of excitement & wonderful activities were enjoyed by our little new students and parents on day 1 of orientation.. Fun orientation icebreakers like blind fold helped parents get to know each other. The children thoroughly enjoyed different stations like Interactive game zone and jumping castle. Special giveaways as their first hand prints were given to the children as keepsake. Teacher meet-and-greets were done so parents can get to know the staff .Goody bags and welcome note from teacher were also distributed among students . It was an entertaining day for everyone.
Day 2
Day 2 of orientation was equally enjoyed by the parents and our tiny tots as there were many activities planned that they did as a pair which included cookie decoration, jewelry making and wish tree. A special zone was created which involved activities to develop fine motor skills of the little learners .Many fun and engaging indoor activities were also planned which included carousel ride ,tile painting and face painting. Students were also guided to use place mats during lunch time and were told about the lunch rules. To beat the heat ice lollies were also distributed among the tiny tots which they enjoyed thoroughly. .
Day 3
Day 3 of the orientation included a fun puppet theatre followed by finger puppets; sing aloud, art, craft and popcorn party. Parents were thrilled to see their little champs participating actively.
The well-conducted orientation session was attended by most of the parents on all three days. We welcome our tiny tots to Pre Nursery and wish them a wonderful and fulfilled year ahead.
