It is better to debate a question without settling it than to settle a question without debating it.

Our young students from grade VII participated in the British Parliamentary Style of Debates at Intersection Level on campus. It was the first time that these young ones were competing at it, the sessions were heated and strategically dealt with by them. The topic for the first round was ‘This house would establish English as the official language of Pakistan’. Students came prepared, however, they were alloted the opposition and proposition category on spot. Six students were sifted to the next round and new teams were made, toss was done to give them sides and prep time. The topic for the final round was ‘This house would allow criminal trials to be televised’. Their content, presentation, style and speaking skills were gauged as a team as well as individually. At the end of the session one out of four teams stood first and students were awarded prizes as the best speaker, best content, best strategy and best presentation/style. Amongst our panel of judges we had Ms Saadia Shahzad as our in-house judge where as our main judge was none other than Mr Sher Afghan Malik, the best in the circuit.

Congratulations to the Winners: Best Speaker was Ibrahim Asif from VII Green, Best Content Mutahir Rizwan VII Blue, Best Strategy Emmun Ayub VII Red and Best Presentation Maria Waseem VII Yellow.

Keep it up dear students 👏👏👏
