TRIP TO ZOO

Beaconhouse School System Main Campus Canal, Faisalabad focuses on experiential and practical learning. It encourages learning by means of doing things by hand and reflecting it in their daily curriculum. In this domain, Early Years and Lower Primary blocks arranged a visit to City Housing, Sargodha Road Faisalabad. The trip was spread throughout the week with each level, starting with Pre-Nursery, visited the zoo and experienced a new way to learn about animals.
The students, from Pre-Nursery till Kinder Garten, were enthusiastic and excited to visit the zoo with their friends after a long break from COVID-19. Parents of Pre-Nursery students were apprehensive that their tiny tots would be away from them for the first time, while others were eager to see their children grow up. Students arrived school at 8 am following COVID SOPs. Singing and dancing on their way to the zoo, they reached their destination in a blink of an eye. The learners were met by ferocious tigers and lions as they arrived at the zoo. They learned about their diet, habitat, and other characteristics. The students then noticed zebras entering their enclosures. Additionally, students were ecstatic to see the monkeys jumping from one pole to the next. Flocks of pigeons attracted the students while the ducks quacked at the young students pointing at them. Deer with their long antlers showed their uniqueness. Students kept expecting the elephant to appear, but it never did. However, learners returned to school with the knowledge that they will be able to observe these creatures on their next visit.
The trip to the zoo was followed by a quick pit stop at Pizza Hut for a yummy meal. Later, the students danced to different songs and enjoyed face painting. This in-city trip opened a gateway of opportunities for many more trips to come. This trip was beneficial and proved to be a different way of learning for the students.
