Beaconhouse Canal Campus, Primary Block aims to provide and develop awareness about national poets and leaders. For this, the Urdu faculty of Primary Block organized an “Urdu week” to pay a tribute to the undying services of our national poet, Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal, who not only visioned for a separate homeland for Muslims but motivated them by his inspirational poetry. Students of grade V participated in “Dareecha-e-Iqbal” which was a quiz competition giving an insight into the life of Allama Iqbal. Four teams had neck-to-neck competition and had a tie at the end. The winners were awarded certificates of appreciation and participation. Grade IV arranged a “Mushaiyra” in which students narrated famous poetry of contemporary and past poets. They enacted themselves like poets and recited the verses in an elegiac manner. Grade III students performed a “Tableau” on the poetry of Allama Iqbal i.e “Makra or Makhi” and “Parinday ki Faryaad”. Students beautifully presented the characters and played them in a modish and graceful way. All levels performed with zeal and zest and showed their honor and respect for the poet.
