Beaconhouse School System focuses on showcasing the creativity and innovation in each student. To create something new from used material is an art in itself. To engage in experiential learning and exploring minds of our little learners, a DIY (Do It Yourself) Art competition under the banner of Rainbow Canvas (The Art and Photography club) was organized. Mothers and their children were given five different categories including empty jars and bottles, disposable plates and glasses, sticks, socks and fabrics, and newspapers. Our little tots from Pre-Nursery till Grade two were seen crafting their projects along with their mothers. Under the bright sun, these young minds bloomed and crafted such an innovative project that will be exhibited in the Art exhibition. What a massive turnover it was.
Mothers were seen creating a variety of items ranging from a pencil holder to a castle made of disposable glass. Surely creativity has no bounds. Our worthy Principal Ms. Sabahat Malik addressed the gathering by appreciating the parents for their hard work and for acknowledging the importance of art in the curriculum. The competition was judged by Ms. Omaira from Primary block, Main Campus Canal, Mr. Rahat Rohail, interior designer, Ms. Bushra Khalid, Textile and interior designer, and Kiran Khalid, a well-known artist in the art community. The DIY competition was a big success that made way for future opportunities to take the competition to a bigger platform.
