International Women’s Day is observed on the 8th of March every year, and is celebrated with much pomp and show. It’s a day to truly celebrate the power that is ‘woman’.
Women around the world have had to change their lives in unpredictable ways. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, political restrictions and global conflict, their resilience has been remarkable. Women have continued to show up for themselves, their families and their communities — and it’s why on this International Women’s Day, and every day, we show up to support them. The main objective of the International Women’s Day is to celebrate the struggle for women’s rights in the economic, social, political, and cultural domain, and to reaffirm women’s solidarity in the struggle for peace. And we are hoping that the trajectory surrounding women’s rights climbs as the year continues.
