Orientation session is an essential event that is designed to familiarise both parents and students with the Kindergarten environment and the insight of the curriculum they will be a part of. The orientation serves several important purposes.
Firstly, it allows parents to meet their potential teachers and some of the school staff. Parents often also receive an overview of the school’s policies, procedures and expectations during this time, helping them understand their role in their child’s education.
These sessions often also involve discussions about the curriculum, daily routines and expectations for students. Parents are informed about what their child will be learning and the skills they are expected to develop throughout the year. This helps parents understand how they can support their child’s learning at home. In some cases, schools may also provide resources and tips for preparing students for kindergarten, such as basic school readiness skills and recommended supplies. The orientation process sets the stage for a successful and supportive year ahead which can help cultivate a feeling of excitement.
BFKG arranged a session for the parents of class 1 and kindergarten to help them understand what the child is going to learn throughout the year and we at BFKG catered to their queries parents have and help them understand the system better. Each teacher of kindergarten and grade 1 actively participated in the orientation session and they all took were efficiently equipped with the information that they had to provide parents, subject teachers were also present at the session who emphasized the importance of extra curricular activities and explained the cross curricular links. After that we explained how our mode of communication will be working which is Google Clasroom, and how important it is to check it on daily basis, the features of the BSS app were also explored for parents and how they can check their child’s attendance and pay fee using the app. Later Maam Naheed addressed the parents emphasizing the importance of healthy lunch and she also talked about other important issues like acknowledging the messages by school and issuance of the student cards and their library cards as well in short it was a fruitful session for the parents they learnt a lot all their queries were answered there and then.
