The corridors of BFKG came alive with imagination and excitement as we celebrated Reading Week, beginning on October 22nd, 2025. The week was thoughtfully planned to help our young learners connect with the healthy, lifelong habit of reading — not just through books, but through creativity, art, and joyful experiences.
Each day brought something new and exciting, making the entire week a true celebration of stories, imagination, and expression.
The week began with a Reading Activity Outside the Classrooms, where students gathered from all the grades turn by turn , books in hand, under the open sky. It was heartwarming to see children reading their favourite stories aloud, sharing characters they love, and discovering new tales through their peers. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm and laughter — a perfect start to a wonderful week.
The next day took a creative turn with the Bookmark Decoration Activity. Learners designed and decorated bookmarks inspired by their favourite storybook characters. With colours, glitter, and endless imagination, the children created little masterpieces that reflected their personalities and love for reading.
On the third day, the excitement continued with Colouring the Title Page Flex of Their Favourite Stories. The classrooms transformed into mini art studios as the learners picked up crayons and markers to bring their chosen stories to life. The joy on their faces as they coloured their favourite tales was truly priceless. They also went out in the open space to fully enjoy the coloring activity.
The fourth day was perhaps one of the most heartwarming — The Flying Story Message Activity. Each learner wrote down a message or moral they had learned from their favourite story, tied it to a colourful balloon, and released it into the sky. Watching the balloons float away carried not just their words, but also their dreams and love for reading. The students were thrilled, their excitement filling the air as they watched their story messages soar high.
The next activity helped the learners connect stories to their real lives through House Number Creations. Each child memorised their house number and decorated a paper cutout of a house, adding their photo and number to it. Together, they created a beautiful House Buzz Display that brightened the school corridors — a lovely reminder that every home can be a place where reading and storytelling thrive.
Finally, the Grand Finale of Reading Week arrived with an event that brought families and teachers together in the most delightful way. Parents from each grade were invited to act out their favourite stories and perform them for the children. The learners were completely captivated — clapping, laughing, and eagerly watching each performance unfold.
But the biggest surprise came when our Principal and Teachers took the stage to act out a magical story — a total surprise for everyone! The children’s faces lit up with wonder and joy as they saw their teachers transform into storybook characters right before their eyes. It was a perfect ending to an unforgettable week filled with creativity, learning, and laughter.
Reading Week 2025 (22nd october-26th october) at BFKG was more than just a celebration — it was a journey into the magical world of stories. Through reading, art, play, and imagination, our young learners discovered that books are not just pages with words, but doors that open to endless adventures.
